This listing is for a good, OMC lower unit from a 1959 5.5 hp engine. The paint is white and is starting to come off in spots. There are a few scratches on the unit. The skeg has some scratches. This unit has been drained and is free of any metal or water in the gearcase. The unit when under pressure is leaking air around the shift rod. It will need a shift rod reseal which is a simple task and an inexpensive one. The unit is going in and out of gear smoothly. The unit is in good overall condition considering the age. Please note that you will need to check the condition of the impeller and you will need to add lower unit oil prior to using this lower unit.
